The terms, in plain words

What this costs, and when

There is no price on this page on purpose. What there is instead is the exact point at which money changes hands, and every condition attached to it.

The payment ladder

Five moments. Money only changes hands at one.

  • The day you say yesNothing
  • Every week while we workNothing
  • The morning you first appear on page oneNothing
  • After fourteen days in a row on page oneOne payment, for the year
  • If ninety days pass and you are not thereNothing, and we part

Why there is no price here

We ask what a customer is worth before we say a number.

Every agency you have spoken to opened with a monthly figure. We do the opposite, and there is a reason for it that has nothing to do with being coy.

A probate attorney in Louisville bills somewhere between three and seven thousand dollars to settle an estate. Toward the upper end of that, one extra file a year covers what we charge with room to spare. At the very bottom of it, one file is roughly break even and the second one is profit. A business that clears eighty dollars on a new customer would need to sign hundreds, and we should not be selling to them at all.

Same service, completely different answer. So the first question on the call is always what one new customer is actually worth to you, and the number follows from that. Ask us and we will tell you in plain figures, on the phone, in about a minute.

What the year includes

The agreement runs twelve months.

Daily position checks

We look at where you sit every morning for the whole year, not just until the invoice clears.

A clock that stops

If you fall off page one the year pauses. It starts again when you are back, so a bad fortnight is time added rather than time lost.

More phrases, at no extra charge

Once the main phrase is held, we start on the others your buyers use. That work is included for the rest of the year.

Questions people ask before signing

When exactly does the first payment happen?

After your site has held a page one position for fourteen consecutive days. Not fourteen days in total, and not from the first day you appear. Fourteen in a row, recorded daily, with the dates sent to you.

Is there a deposit or a setup fee?

No. There is nothing to pay to start and nothing to pay while the work is going on.

What if I never reach page one?

If ninety days pass without a page one position, the agreement ends and you owe nothing at all. Even if the site reaches page one on day ninety one.

Why will you not publish a price?

Because the right number depends on what one new customer is worth to you, and we would rather ask than guess. A business that makes four thousand dollars from one new client and a business that makes two hundred are not the same conversation.

What happens after the first year?

You either renew or you do not. Nothing is automatic and nothing renews by itself.

It costs nothing to ask and we answer either way.
