The method
How we get one business onto page one
There are two halves to this. What sits on your own pages, and what sits everywhere else on the internet pointing at you. Most local firms have done neither.
Step one
We check your market before you commit to anything.
You tell us your trade and your town. We do four things and send them back to you in writing, usually inside one working day.
- We find the exact phrase your buyers type when they are ready to hire, and we pull its real search volume from Google's own keyword tool with the location set to your town rather than the whole country.
- We run that phrase and record who holds the positions across the first forty results, including which of them are directories rather than real competitors. Occasionally one slot will not capture cleanly, and when that happens we say so rather than filling the gap in with a guess.
- We read your site the way a search engine reads it, and list what is missing.
- We tell you whether your town is still open for your trade.
None of that costs anything and none of it obliges you to anything.
Step two
We fix what is on your own pages.
This part sounds small and it is not. In our Louisville audit, thirty one of the thirty seven law firms we checked had never put the word probate in the title of their own homepage. Six had no main heading on the page at all. Fourteen had no page about the service anywhere on the site.
Search engines are not being clever when they skip those sites. They are being literal. If the page never says what you do, it does not get shown to the person asking for it.
What we change
The title on each page. The first heading a visitor reads. A real page for each service you actually sell. Your business name, address and phone written in a form Google can read. Your Google Business Profile filled in properly, with the right main category. Page speed, if the site is slow enough to be holding you back.
If you have a web person, we hand them the list. If you do not, we do it. Either way it takes about a day.
Step three
We build the links that decide the order.
This is the half that actually moves you, and it is the half nobody in your trade is doing.
Here is the finding that made us build the company this way. In Louisville we found nine firms that failed none of our on page checks. Every one had a real heading, a dedicated page about probate, and structured data. They ranked at number two, three, five, thirteen, twenty, twenty nine, thirty two, forty, and one of them was not in the top forty at all.
Nothing left to fix on the page, and nearly forty places between them. So what separates them is not on the page. It is who else on the internet points at them.
So we build that. Listings and profiles on the directories that already rank for your phrase, in your trade and your town. Of the thirty nine positions we captured in the Louisville top forty, eleven belonged to directories rather than to a law firm. Those are free to join and most of your competitors never have.
Two rules we hold ourselves to. We vary the wording of every link rather than using the same phrase every time, because a hundred identical links is the loudest possible signal that someone bought them. And we check that each listing has actually been read by Google rather than just posted, because a listing nobody crawls is worth exactly nothing. Each one gets a date in a log you can see.
Step four
We count fourteen days, then we invoice.
Rankings do not move in a straight line. A site often jumps onto page one, falls back for a few days, and then settles. That is normal and it is why we count consecutive days rather than celebrating the first good morning.
We check your position every morning. When you have held page one for fourteen days in a row we send you the dated record and the invoice at the same time. If you slip off before day fourteen, the count starts again and you still owe nothing.
If ninety days pass and you are not on page one, the agreement ends and there is no bill. That is written in.
